This is, as of this moment, the story of Cirrus and Diffetto. Born of the plains, neither believe in true love, or giving oneself to only one in the ways of life mates. For all of Cirrus' life she believes friendship the most intimate act any soul can partake in...not love. While it is a special union between to souls, she feels more compassion for her friends.

When she is old and unable to get tied up in having more offspring she realizes that true love was not only a fable, but at one point was staring at her right in the face and when she finds him again, and stares into his peppered white face, and he hers, they discover it. Diffetto, on the other hand, always knew. He waited for her (not with holding his coupling with other mares, but his heart he never gave out) and only at the end did she come to realize...he'd always been her one.

From that moment they will spend the rest of their days by each others sides, making up for lost time until the end. Fury and laughter united, the storm cloud and its silvered lining. Diffetto and Cirrus.
